Uncle Ron's Rum

Uncle Ron has wonderful friends who search, discover, recommend, source and deliver sugar cane based fermented magic. This page is dedicated to the rum that has been celebrated at Uncle Ron's Night and the many academy gatherings. The Academy (where possible or appropriate) will highlight where the rum was delivered from, purchased or supplied by or whatever. If you are in food service or run a licensed establishment we will try list the distributor freinds of Uncle Ron who have supported us in the past. If you are a academy sort of person  we will try to tell you where it was discovered.

Hercules Deluxe Rum, Not alot out there on this one.. But they like it in Port Alberni as it has been there since the late 80's. That is where it was sourced from (with Don Ron Paul).... 3764 10th Ave.
Iceberg Silver Rum, What a great rum and in Nova Scotia Stores.... The Academy hopes to try other rum's by Iceberg.

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum This is now available in Nova Scotia but only in the last year. In 2008 a call came from California about a great new discovery. Within minutes (no kidding)  a bottle was hand delivered from  the Riverview, New Brunswick Academy an the rest is  history. A review.
San Miguel 5. It was purchased at the NSLC. Can't seem to find too much through google.. It is form Ecuador. This blog mentions and the writer is in Halifax.

Santa Teresa 1796 Ron Antiguo de Solera 2009 was the first year the Academy enjoyed this. It was discovered at Premier Wine and Spirits. And a review

Sea Wynde Sea Wynde was one year the Academy's "double blind" ensuring our quality standards. It was sourced from the NSLC and donated by Don Ron from Tantallon. A review.
St. James Royal Amber An Agricole that was sourced in Montreal at the SAQ Classique. A review.
Stubb's Gold Having a hard time finding anything on this rum. It is from Australia made by William Stubbs and Company Ltd.
Young's Old Sam Demerara Rum Cannot find a review. Maybe the Academy should see one of the reviewers liked should get a sample?
ZACAPA Centenario 23 anos production limitada This has been available at the NSLC. before it was here it was delivered from Guatemala by a Malagash Academy member. A review.
Zaya Gran Reserva rum Wonderfully available now in Nova Scotia at Premier Wine and Spirits. Last year it was sourced form Minneapolis. Before we knew it was here it was sourced from the Albertson's Coronado Island in San Diego. A review. It was the winner in 2009. Coincidence that two winning rums both start with "Z"?
